As a new business, Blue Sky Airport Parking reached out to Forty for help creating a visual and verbal strategy for their brand, designing and building a website complete with a custom reservation system, and marketing their facility to the already-crowded airport parking market.
We began by working with Blue Sky to develop their brand and create a style guide for all their future design and marketing efforts. As their opening day approached, we began working on their website, which needed to describe their competitive advantages in a friendly way and allow customers to make reservations. However, no other off-site airport parking lot website made online reservations the way Blue Sky wanted them made. Other companies said they were reserving you a space, but in reality, it was no different than driving up to the lot unannounced. Others allowed travelers to make reservations but charged an up-front fee to do so, which didn’t even apply to the cost of the reservation. Blue Sky wanted to make it crystal clear that when you made a reservation with them, you had a guaranteed space, and it wouldn’t cost you more.
This philosophy of rethinking the way airport parking facilities do business helped guide every piece of their website and marketing strategy. Whenever they were faced with the “typical way” of doing things, they asked, “Why should we charge people to cancel their reservation? Why can’t we just build the software ourselves so it’s no big deal if a reservation gets canceled? Why not use QR codes on reservation confirmations so they can hold more data?” After questioning everything the competition does, we developed a website, reservation system, and brand that truly changes the airport parking industry.
In addition to a cheerful and helpful website, we collaborated with Blue Sky on nearly every element of the customer experience, from their advertising campaigns and marketing materials all the way down to the shuttle music and parking ticket design.
